Plastic Granulator – A necessary tool for recycling plastic without difficulty

In the plastics industry, Plastic granulators play a key role in the production process. They take scrap material and re-grind the material into fine pieces that can be re-melted and processes again into the finished product. They are used to split plastic products such as drums, crates, plastic bottles into flakes, regrinds. Then, these grinds can be sorted, separated, washed and pelletized before reprocessing.

Plastic Granulator – A necessary tool for recycling plastic without difficulty

Plastic Granulator is a device that helps to transform plastic objects into tiny granules through shredding. It can be used to recycle huge plastic goods and proved to be a success in the manufacturing industry. Plastics can be used for various purposes and they are cheap, reliable and long-lasting.

On the other side, day to day wastage of plastics can make the earth sterile. Plastics usage is good when it is used as a medium of storage. It is known that many huge objects are made out of plastic and it serves as a multipurpose material. Using large plastic goods is not good as they result in pollution and can increase global warming. So, it is advisable to dispose of large plastic materials. Therefore, huge plastic materials are processed using plastic granulator that turns them into small crumbles. So, they can be used as raw material to make other plastic goods. In this way, plastic can be recycled and also helps to reduce environmental pollution.

In the 21st century, plastic granulators are used extensively and they became important devices. They work on electric power just like any other machine. The spinning of motors can be done with the help of attached motors. When a plastic object is passed through, it is converted to small granules and hence they are named as ‘plastic granulators’.

But, they are very expensive and require a lot of maintenance. Small firms might not be able to choose these tools.

Types of granulators:

There are three types of granulators that are widely used in the plastic industry.

1) Double Scissor Cut or Double Angle Cut:

Double scissor cut or double angle cut granulator contains straight rotor knives that are arranged in parallel with the slight angle. We can notice various degrees of angles when slanted to completely horizontal. It also includes stationary knives and they are integrated parallel but in the opposite direction to the rotor blades. Manufacturers prefer double scissor cut as it’s open design provide ‘true scissor’ cuts with greater precision.

2) V-type Rotor or Chevron:

In these granulators, knives are arranged in V-shape and mounted in parallel to one another. Chevron granulators are enduring and suit for injection or extrusion of plastic scrap.

3) Helical Rotor

In this granulator, knives are aligned in helical or spiral design. These granulators are robust, durable and can withstand higher impact load. Helical rotors are perfect for shredding thick cross components.

Depending on the usage of these granulators, they will give you many more years of service. This helps to have a well-tuned engine for several years. In the long run, you can also save money besides saving recycling plastic without difficulty!
